We know. It sounds like common sense.

But you are entering a maker space and with that we have some rules to help keep everyone safe, and a waiver, because, you know, lawyers and because of that one time that someone stuck a hot glue gun up their nose. We know YOU wouldn't do that, but we're guessing you probably know someone who would.

LET'S DO THIS!

The Makerie Craft & Coffee Bar

This Agreement is made 
 

BETWEEN: The Makerie Craft & Coffee Bar (the “Makerie”)


AND: (the "Participant") 


as dated and named below.


Background:

 

A.

Activities offered by the Makerie include arts and crafts projects and instruction (the “Activities”) and participation in these activities may require the use of hazardous and flammable liquids and chemicals, sharp tools and objects, small tools and objects and heavy objects including, but not limited to scissors, knives, glue, paint, markers, pencils, painting tools, papers, hot glue guns, fabrics, plastics, rulers, staples and fasteners, pins and needles (collectively the “Art Materials”).

B.

The Makerie is desirous of protection against any and all liability, claim, suit, action, loss, or damage, bodily or otherwise, that may result from the Participant’s participation in the Activities.

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Activities, the Participant acknowledges and agrees to the following:

  1. The Participant understands the risks involved in the Activities and the use of the Art Materials including, without limitation, the risk of injury, damage and death and the Participant assumes and accepts full responsibility for the inherent and other risks of these Activities and the use of the Art Materials (both known and unknown). 
     

  2. The Participant agrees to use the Art Materials solely for their intended use.
     

  3. The Participant agrees to supervise any children under the age of 16 to the fullest extent reasonable to ensure the safety of the children during the entirety of their attendance at the Makerie and participation in the Activities and use of the Art Materials.
     

  4. The Participant acknowledges that the Makerie has the right to refuse service and deny admittance to any customer at any time.
     

  5. The Participant will hold harmless and indemnify and forever release the Makerie, its employees, agents, participants, and affiliates, etc. from and against any and all claims and actions arising out of the participation of the Participant in the Activities, including, without limitation, expenses, judgments, fines, settlements, legal costs, and other amounts actually and reasonably incurred in connection with any liability, suit, action, loss, or damage, whether characterized as personal injuries sustained or damage to property.
     

  6. This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia.
     

  7. This Agreement will ensure to the benefit of, and be binding upon the parties, their heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns.

 

Photo Consent Release 

 

8. The Makerie may take photographs and/or videos of the Participant to be used in promotional brochures, reports, posters, and on websites. 

 

The Participant has read this Agreement in its entirety prior to signing below.
 

If The Participant is under the age of eighteen (18) this Agreement must be signed by a Parent/Guardian.
