Do you also feel like the progress made toward gender equality feels as fragile as ever? We sure do. We also feel that it is as important as ever to help build women’s strength and confident to ensure the accomplishments of womxn before us isn’t lost.
This event will offer both a reflective as well as a light-hearted approach to building confidence and strength in women. It is meant to help us as womxn shed the confines of roles, expectations, and behaviours to let loose for an evening of creative empowerment.
Tickets are limited to 40 attendees.
Tickets for this special evening are $195+taxes per person.
Drinks & food
Included with your ticket are delicious treats! Enjoy noshing down on some pink tacos and boobie cupcakes, prepared by Chef Kate with Baller Food.
You'll also get two drink tickets that can be used for craft mimosas featuring juice hand pressed from Col Juicery owned by local businesswoman Rhea, wine from Sandhill winery in Kelowna and their woman winemaker Sandy, beer from Trench Brewing co-owned by local businesswomen Bailey and Esther, or anything from our coffee bar drink menu which will be made for you by myself or any of our amazing woman baristas!
A Micro Market
These talented makers have been creating items for release at this event, only for ticket holders! With your ticket, you'll get exclusive access to browse and purchase their incredible handmade items. Watch each Maker's instagram accounts to see if there are any leftovers available post-event if you're unable to attend.
You'll just have to trust us, but we are planning a bunch of fun activities for you to enjoy as part of the event! We promise that NOT going to include anything like trust falls, or looking at your hoohoos with mirrors. Some of our planned activities should leave you laughing, others will encourage reflection, but they're all going to be a surprise. All are included in the price of your ticket.
We are SO excited to include a life drawing session with two live models as part of this event, included with your ticket. There is absolutely no drawing experience required and we'll be there to guide you through the session. We'll be working with you to appreciate the flowing lines of a womxn's body from an artistic perspective, instead of the harsh and judgement filled approach we typically have with our own bodies. The Makerie is an inclusive safe space and we are thrilled to have two models, including one who is transitioning to female. This experience is one of acceptance and respect. We'll be debriefing at the end of the session.
During the life drawing portion of the evening we will be gifted with a live performance by one of Northern BC's womxn artists. Stay tuned to see who will be performing!
Briana from Urban Alchemy will be offering permanent jewelry at the event for an additional cost. Purchase a "permanent" bracelet. If you're not familiar, this jewelry doesn't have a clasp, but is instead quickly and painlessly welded together with the intention of never taking it off. These bracelets can often have personal meaning behind them, and friends or family often get a matching set. It usually takes only one-to-three painless minutes to get a permanent bracelet. The welding tools never touch your skin - there's a protection pad. between the bracelet and tools and you.
While intended to be "permanent", if you ever need to remove the item (maybe for an MRI, or travel, for example), it can easily be removed with scissors or wire snips. It can even be saved for re-welding later.
