The Makerie: Untamed

Do you also feel like the progress made toward gender equality feels as fragile as ever? We sure do. We also feel that it is as important as ever to help build women’s strength and confident to ensure the accomplishments of womxn before us isn’t lost.

This event will offer both a reflective as well as a light-hearted approach to building confidence and strength in women. It is meant to help us as womxn shed the confines of roles, expectations, and behaviours to let loose for an evening of creative empowerment.

Tickets for this special evening are $195+taxes per person.

I’m a woman business owner. My staff is and has been predominantly womxn. They are CIS gendered, queer, transitioning - you name it, it’s been represented on our team and it’s an honour I hold privileged to be part of that.

I was trying to think of ways that I could do more this year to ensure that, on international women’s day and beyond, I was helping to ensure that my kid, all my adopted staff kids, my friends and my family could not only be simply who they are safety, but thrive. Conversation led to conversation and myself and some like-minded creative business womxn came up with a concept for an event.

The evening will include:

• Fun and sassy food like pink tacos and titty cakes in partnership with @ballerfoodcanada

• A micro market with some specially created limited run products from makers @urbanalchemyjewelry, @kith.and.kiln.pottery, @northsoulstudios and myself.

• Life drawing with live models. I’ll help you!

• Mimosas, beer, wine.

• A permanent jewelry station.

• Live music.

• And so much more.

Expect us to engage you over the next few weeks as we prepare for this special event. And expect some surprises.
