About the Event

There’s just something about plants! There are so many proven benefits from being among them. They improve our well-being - the colour green has been shown to reduce stress in your central nervous system and spending an hour among plants can shed a bad mood. Incorporating plants into a man-made environment advances health, happiness, mindfulness and productivity.

In Northern BC we are surrounded by nature and thrive in it. We started to wonder if being surrounded by paper plants could have a similar positive effect, and so “Greening the Gallery” was developed as a partnership between The Makerie and Two Rivers Gallery.

Both organizations are built around the concept of community and creativity. The Rustad Galleria, with its large windows, is the perfect space for an indoor greenhouse for handmade plants to flourish, filled with plants created by individuals throughout Prince George (and beyond!).

In this workshop, we'll show you how to make some really cool paper plants! We'll have several samples for you to look at and lots of techniques to share.

In order to ensure this workshop is accessible to as many people we've made it a pay-what-you-want session.

We suggest a minimum of $15 to help cover some of the material costs.

All ages welcome.

At the end of the workshop, you can choose to take your creation with you, or we can collect your name and number and include your plant in our installation at Two Rivers Gallery! The exhibit will take place July 8th to August 13th, after which time we'll reach out to you so we can get you your plant back!

Please check in at the front counter on arrival.

Tickets are non-refundable 48 hours before the workshop begins.

Tickets are transferrable.
