HUSKEE SWAP PROGRAM

Each year, more than 500 Billion takeaway cups pile up in landfill.

To solve this problem, we need a global community of cafes and coffee drinkers who swap and exchange a single reusable takeaway coffee cup.

The Makerie is so proud to be part of the HuskeeSwap community.

  •  You need to supply a cup and lid to participate (any size or colour)

  • You won’t get your same cup back, you’ll get a different, commercially cleaned and sanitized cup.

  • You may get a different colour, or even mixed cup and lid colours. That’s all part of the fun!

A BIT MORE ABOUT HUSKEE

Created using waste husk left over from the production of coffee.
The unique bio-polymer of the Huskee cup was chosen for durability, food safety and the ability to re-purpose. When coffee is processed, the skin and fruit is removed, then dried, and finally the husk is hulled off. This is the tough fibrous shell used in the production of the Huskee cup.
The polymer is non-toxic, BPA free.

BEAUTY MEETS FUNCTION.
The fins offer exceptional insulation, the lid can be squeezed on with one hand and there are drain slots on the base to remove excess water after a dishwasher cycle. There are only two colours: a natural (no dyes, just the colour of our husk) and one with a charcoal pigment. Whilst we think they look great, the real reason is so that they are easy to separate and recycle at their end of life.

End of LIFE.
Huskee cups generally live a long & full life. But at the end, we want them back! The Makerie is a collection point for any used or damaged HuskeeCups. Not only do we want to spare our oceans and landfill from single-use, we want to spare them from longer lived products too! We need to extend every single product to it's absolute maximum. Huskee's goal is to ensure over 90% of everything made is collected and re-purposed into amazing new Huskee products.
